These terms describe the policies that apply to DLS Academy 4-week cohorts. Final language is reviewed by counsel before public launch and may change. Athletes and families receive a complete enrollment package after acceptance.

Refund policy

Full refund within 7 days of enrollment if requested in writing.
50% refund between 7 days post-enrollment and 7 days before week 1.
No refund after week 1 begins; goodwill credit toward a future cycle considered case by case.
Injury exception: if the athlete is medically unable to continue, a prorated refund or credit applies to the next cycle.

Cancellation policy

DLS Academy may cancel a cycle if fewer than 8 athletes enroll across all groups.
Cancellation triggers a full refund within 7 days.
If we cancel less than 7 days before start, families also receive a $200 goodwill credit toward a future cycle.

Athlete conduct

One missed session per cycle is accommodated with advance notice.
Two or more missed sessions trigger a conversation with the family.
Disrespect toward coaches, peers, or facility staff results in immediate dismissal without refund.
This expectation is communicated before the first session, not discovered after a missed one.

Photo and video consent

Consent is collected at enrollment via the application form and signed by a parent for any minor.
Default opt-in for use on Instagram and the DLS Academy site.
Opt-out is clearly available and honoured immediately upon request.
Footage of athletes who have not opted in is cropped, blurred, or excluded.

Liability waiver

A liability waiver is required at enrollment, signed by a parent for any minor athlete. The waiver acknowledges the inherent risk of basketball training, releases DLS Academy from liability for injury during sessions, permits emergency medical treatment, and includes the photo and video consent clause above.

Insurance

DLS Academy carries commercial general liability insurance covering cohort sessions. Athletes are responsible for their own health insurance. Facility insurance is the responsibility of the venue.

Payments

$720 CAD per cycle, paid by Interac e-transfer at enrollment. Payment locks the spot for the cycle. No discounts.

Limitation of liability

DLS Academy is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. Total liability under any claim is limited to the amount paid for the affected cycle.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of British Columbia and the federal laws of Canada applicable in BC. Any dispute shall be resolved in the courts of British Columbia.
